2001Feb19: The IPCC’s Climate Change 2001: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability report warns that third world countries, including island states, will bear the brunt of climate change. Africa will suffer desertification, poorer harvests, and water shortages. Asia will suffer drought, floods, and population migrations. Damage to ecosystems will be aversely affect fisheries, coral reefs and ice caps and glaciers worldwide (IPCC, 2001).
