2002Apr3: The first solar energy customers of La Societe de Services Decentralises (SSD) in Ourikela, Mali, include the maternity clinic, the mayor’s office, a few farms, and the mosque. SSD is a Malian company held in equal parts by Electricite de France and Nuon, a private Dutch operator.
