2006Nov9: Wealthier countries efforts to help developing nations adapt to the impacts of climate change have been described as woeful in the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) Human Development Report 2006. “There is a lot of evidence that the droughts in the Horn of Africa this year are connected to climate change. This is not an issue for 50 years down the road, it is an issue for today”, said Kevin Watkins, lead author of the report (BBC, 2006).
