2007Feb28: After two years of study, scientists argue that carbon taxes, a ban on conventional coal-fired power plants, and an end to beachfront construction are needed to limit global temperatures to 3.6F. The research group was comprised of scientists from 11 countries. The research was sponsored by the United Nations Foundation and Sigma Xi (LA Times, 2007).
