2007March15: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signs legislation that moves up the state’s primary to Feb 5. According to California Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez, D-Los Angeles, “It gives issues like climate change and health care, coastal protection, and immigration, these issues that disproportionately impact California, much more prominence with the contenders on the national political scale (Sign on San Diego. 2007).
