2007Sept10ca: Wheat futures hit a record of $8.87 a bushel in Chicago trading. Wheat futures were trading at $3.95 a year ago. Bad weather and switch to corn production to take advantage of growing demand for ethanol are two factors of rising wheat prices (LA Times, 2007).
