2008Jan2: California Attorney General Jerry Brown files a suit in the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco that challenges the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) denial of the state’s request to implement its own emissions law–a law that is stronger than the one proposed by the federal government. Fifteen other states join California in the suit (BBC, 2008).
