2008Feb22: Eurostar trains, linking London with Brussels and Paris, emit a tenth as much CO2 to core Eurostar destinations than trips by airplane, according to Eurostar chief executive Richard Brown (IHT, 2008).

This is a great point and as we know that flights are creating a big enviro problem, it should be highlighted!!! Climate has been a big topic for each nation to address. The cost of international trains have fallen inline with competeing airlines, what more you can travel more people on a train than a plane.
