2009Jan16: Painting roofs white would increase the amount of sunlight reflected from the earth by 0.03%, enough to eliminate the warming caused by 44bn tons of CO2 pollution and slash $1bn from electricity bills in the US alone, according to Hashem Akbari, a scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (UK Guardian).
