
2009Oct4: India and China produce about a third of the world’s black carbon, according to Professor Syed Hasnain of the Energy and Resources Institute in Delhi. Black carbon is produced from diesel fumes and cooking with wood, crop waste or cow dung (Guardian.co.uk, 2009).
