U.S. Invests $2 Billion in Solar Energy Companies to Promote Solar Power and Create Jobs 2010

2010July3: President Barack Obama announces that about $2 billion will be awarded to Abengoa Solar and Abound Solar Manufacturing, two solar energy companies, in order to support the use of solar power in the United States and increase domestic employment. Abengoa Solar will construct a 280-megawatt generating station in Arizona and Abound Solar Manufacturing will produce advanced solar panels in Colorado and Indiana (Xinhua).
